You Became a Scientific Profile This work was made in reference to how white America saw black people as inferior and would view black people as test subjects. The work shows a topless black woman standing at a side view. The image is colored red and there is text in gray saying, “You became a scientific profile.”

“Cristal” “Black Power” This photograph shows a little black girl sitting on a slab of concrete holding a sign that says, “Black Power” with a panther on it. The little girl is wearing a flower dress with a cardigan and simple shoes. The photograph is in black and white in format.

Nightlife This painting shows us a crowd in a bar with many people dancing and drinking. Some people can be seen sitting at tables and the bar. We can also see two bartenders serving drinks. There is a pink hue over the whole painting giving it a very lively atmosphere.

Malcolm X Speaks for Us This work has 16 faces throughout the page, 7 are lined up at the top of the page and the others are spread out around the bottom. Malcolm X can be seen facing left in black and white while the other faces either have realistic coloring or are colored in blue, green, or brown.

Malcolm X Holding up Black Muslim Newspaper, Los Angeles, California This photograph shows Malcolm X holding a newspaper up in one hand. The newspaper reads, “Seven unarmed negros shot in cold blood by Los Angeles police.” The photograph is in black and white and the side profiles of two men can be seen in front and behind Malcolm.

Many Mansions This is a collage piece with many different elements coming together. We have three black men in the painting all working in a garden, one is touching the flowers, another is digging, and the third is raking. There are two baskets filled with stuffed bears and trees in the background as well. There is a white sign saying Welcome to with the location unreadable. And city buildings can be seen in the background, with a red ribbon at the top of the piece.

Sanctuary This work is a sculpture made out of wood, with a square on top being held up by two sticks. All of these objects are being balanced on a wooden wheel. The square is made of refined wood, as is the wheel, and the two sticks are natural.

Olmec Afropick This work depicts a Black power fist, and as you go down the arm the fist turns into an afro pick. There is also a hatching texture in the first and is in black ink.

Baayfalls There are two individuals sitting on metal chairs right next to each other, one is a man and one is a woman, Jordan’s brother and her friend. They are seated outside of a museum where the women are selling hats. The woman is holding her index finger to her thumb and the man has his hands folded in his lap. Both are looking at the viewer.

American Costume This work utilizes many different textures into it to make a portrait of a face. The face is at a side profile and the hair is depicted with fingerprints, as is the neck. With the body looking like a different cross hatching technique.

Train Station This work is a painting depicting a scene at a train station. Around the train station you can see black people walking around, as well as some white people. This work is showing the different places Black people migrated to during the Great Migration.

Stranger in the Village #13 This painting is a large black rectangle covered in black writing that expands across the whole canvas. This painting is a part of a series which makes commentary on colonialism, race, and identity.

How Do You Get a Nigger Out of a Tree? This is a black and white photograph cropped to fit into a square, and the photo shows part of a black man being hung in a tree. There is text at the bottom saying, “How Do You Get Nigger Out of A Tree?” The "n-word" has been kept in the title of this image because it is the name of the work the creator chose; therefore, the name is unaltered or censored.

Africa Restored (Cheryl as Cleopatra) This is a sculpture in the shape of Africa colored black with many plates of portraits covering it. Some of the plates are attached together with gold chains and there is a set of four plates draping off the sculpture with the last plate touching the ground.
