This item is a drawing of chained enslaved Africans on a cargo ship. There are nine nude visible figures with short hair. They sit upright with their knees bent towards their chest. There are chains on their wrist and ankles. They appear to be in a box. On the side of the image it reads “3 feet 3 in. high.” there is a decorative border on the top and bottom of the image. The back of the image contains various writing in pencil and crayon along with a stamp of previous handlers of the image.
