Description
-
Two women exit the pink and gold drapery of a tent. Inside there is a bed where the foot of a man is all that is seen of his laid down body. The woman on the right is wearing a blue dress which falls off of her shoulders, exposing her white underdress. Her head of auburn ringlets is turned away dismissively from the severed head of the man in the tent held in her left hand. She goes to place the head in the burlap sack offered to her by her companion, an older woman wearing a red and gold tunic and white headwrap.
