Satirical caricature of an operatic prima donna singing by William Heath (1795-1840). The singer holds a bow in a reference to the classical tales and characters that operas were often based on like the goddess Diana.
She sings a line from the comic opera "The Duenna," composed by Thomas Linley the Elder and Thomas Linley the younger with a libretto by Richard Brinsely Sheridan. - Format
