About the Author
Born in San Diego California but growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, I have spent my entire life on the West coast and along the way, I noticed areas of history that were celebrated in some states, yet not thought twice about in others. My name is Faith Cooksey and I am presenting a digital exhibit to showcase the history of feminism in Arizona. I feel strongly that there are too many misconceptions about feminism, gender and sexuality so I am pursuing a career in human sexuality with my degree in Psychology, accompanied by a Humanities minor. By studying the topics myself, I feel as though I am creating opportunities to share that knowledge I've gained with those around me. As a senior in college, I am excited to begin my professional career in the field of human sexuality, and creating this exhibit, is like a first step in doing so and I feel as though I am opening up that discussion of gender and sexuality that I feel is so important to have.
