Drawn to the road’s history and distinctive ambiance, car and motorcycle clubs from different countries have rallies and shows in various places along Route 66 and participate in the ongoing activities that keep the highway relevant and important; as these activities are what sustain the economy of the businesses that the road is now known for.

The notion that people are willing to travel great distances to experience a road that is itself known for travelers and where it might take them is a testament to the enduring wanderlust that Route 66 still instills in anyone familiar with it.

Though all of 66 has now been bypassed, the iconic image of travelling through miles and miles of secluded and beautiful American landscapes still holds strong; and the desire to fire up and start down the road for your own unique journey is what keeps people coming back to the Mother Road even after all these years.
