Class was great because of the instructor. He was easy to reach and
responded in a prompt and timely manner when e-mailed or called with important
questions. He made the class. Personally, I learn more from web-based courses
because I actually read the book and study more. Overall, I feel the class was
great because of the way it was presented and again the instructor.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was my first web-based class and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I truly
appreciate Dr. Hammersly as an instructor. I have never met or spoken with Dr.
Hammersly, but he was very instrumental in helping me to apply to NAU and
register for classes. I have a BA from ASU and I rarely received the friendly
attention or position communication from professors there that I did with Dr.
Hammersley. I plan to continue with the P

Dr. Hammersley has done a fantastic job in putting together this web based
curricula. He should be commended. I will definately recommend this coarse.

Once again I had a great time in Chuck's class. He was always available to
answer questions, and responded to e-mails promptly. I loved being able to
plan events that the local community took part in.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another great web-class!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a very fun course I learned a lot and had fun doing it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This course was very useful and infomative. However, it is rated as a 275
level course but the work load is that of a 300 level and above class. The
class rating on this class should be way above 300 or the amount of work
should be decreased to meet the 275 rating. The play program was a pain in the
butt. Yes, it was a good learning experience when we finally got into the
classrooms. However, Cammi has blamed a lot of the problems in the course on
the students. She complains that we never called her back and were rude when
we did. Cammi failed to mention that she took days and weeks to reply to a
single phone call. Thus by the time the students got her on the phone they
were a little ticked...which is understandable. Whomever is in charge of the
Play Program should be more involved...this is just not something you can do
on the side. Cammi needed to know that this job took more work then she was
expecting. Student's like to be involved in community projects such as the
Jack-a-lope fun run. They need to have some say so and not always be jerked
around by the professor. The students have great ideas...if the professor
wants to be totally involved in the planning process he should
A) meet with each planning team seperately or B)just do it himself... It's
frustrating having all your work and ideas trashed everytime you bring them.
Working with each group before they have finished their work would be better.
Can't be upset about people not coming to an 8 o'clock class on MWF when class
consists of simply reading through the notes on the internet and interjecting
a few stories here and there. The students aren't getting much out of class..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Niec job!! Chuck's experience in the field is very valueable.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fact that this class had so many time consuming assignment, tests, quizes,
volunteer time, and reports, takes away from the over all learning in the
class. I feel that this could be a great class if there wasn't such a huge
work load.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really enjoyed the class. I wish all classes had a web-based delivery. The
sites used really help i think.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel that the PLAY program should either be managed better or discontinued
in future courses. The owner of the PLAY program and her assistants were, at
times, rude, unreachable, unprofessional, and incomplete with their
information. I realize that as teachers sign up then students could sign up
but pushing things to the last five weeks is unacceptable.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck Hammersley is an irreplaceable component of the Parks and Recreation
Management Program. His enthusiasm and professionalism in this field spreads
to his students.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was my first PRM class for my declared major, as was PRM 220 this
semester. It is hard to determine the amount of knowledge I really gained at
this point as I have not ventured far into the PRM curriculum. I can only
guess that this class will help me further in the rest of my classes and
practicum and internship. Thanks for the introduction.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I enjoyed your class. Sorry I didn't make it more often in the morning. It had
nothing to do with your class. I stay out to late at night.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Class was enjoyable. Really enjoyed the out-of-class assignments such as
planning the Flagstaff Family Fun Run and participating in the PLAY Program.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The instructor is very enthusiastic about the course material, but tended to
easily go off on tangents about past experiences or activities he was involved
in. While these stories did relate in some way to the subject matter, I felt
that I could have learned more from the course if the professor would stay
focused on the course content. He would always have the web page for the class
up during class, but rarely did he teach from it. This does show that he has a
great understanding of the course content, but since this was a web-enhanced
class rather than a web-based class, I would have liked to see him teach more
about the content of the course rather than tell stories realated to the
content. We were not tested on the stories he told, therefore, I often felt
like I was wasting my time by going to class.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
chuck was a wonderful instructor! he is so very energic, enthusiatic, and
shows a real passion for the field of parks and recreation. his stories were
very enlightening, and since he is one of the first instructors i have
encountered since switching my major to parks and recreation, i have no doubt
i am now going to stick with this major. chuck is very inspiring, and i look
forwards to our many incounters in the future.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Hammersley is an excellent professor. He's very caring and always willing
to help with anything.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that it really unfair to have just one computer lab for over 200
students. There are always classes in there, and when there aren't, then the
competion for computers is so tough that I can never get anything done. That
fact has been really frustrating me all semester, and I just thought you
should know. On a happier note. . . Happy Holidays, Chuck!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel the computer applications section of this class was a waste of my time.
The only thing the entire “class” program taught me was that I never want
to do Data Entry. The 20 hours spent on this assignment were nothing but busy
work and could have been spent doing something useful. I resent the fact that
I had to spend 0 on the “class” program.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The structure of the website was hard to follow as well as unclear
instructions on what the assignments were and when they were to be due. Many
of the projects were confusing to follow.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I found the class very informative, and i thought the web section was great to
have as a good resource
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would have rather had more events than doing the play program
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The instructor replied to questions quickly and promptly. Material was
graded and grades posted in a timely manner. The instructor made the course
more enjoyable because he was very easily to reach, understanding, and
worked with me in every way possible to make sure I felt comfortable with
all the material and coursework. Personally for me, web-based courses make
me study more than traditional lecture classes because I actually study.
Overall, the instructor made the class fun and more enjoyable.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Needs to be more explicative in addressing the expectations of the course.
Class for Windows was extremely confusing and the directions should have
been made clear. Also the expectations for the web-based students should be
made clear as well.

Dr. Hammersley has done a wonderful job in assembling the on line
curriculum. I am looking forward to taking more online coarses. However,
online coarses, in my opinion, will never compare to the in class experience
in that there are more oportunities for interaction.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This course is very fun and exciting. A great deal of knowledege is gained
without knowing it because of the nature of the course. I would reccommend
this course to everyone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My PRM 383 class was awesome becuase I had an awesome intructor and a great
way to learn the material!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This course was interesting I learned alot and now I look at business with a
differnt veiw.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep offering the web classes, please.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
thanks Chuck, I enjoyed the class!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck is a very goo teacher. I have had him for many years now and he seems to
know what he is talking about during lecture time. I would recommend this
class
for others to take in the future.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the most valuable courses i've taken at NAU
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wish all courses had an alternitive choice for the web-based/web-enhanced.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did not get to go to the lecuture because it was the same time as work, but
I would have liked to. Community and Commercial Recreation is my major, but
this class seemed to be all busy work. There were a lot of things we should
learn in this class that could be taught in a more interesting manner. I don't
know if this was a bad class to take over the web, but it just seemed to lack
all of the good stuff related with classes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was an excellent course
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck is a caring teacher who puts the needs of his students first. A good
hearted man.

I enjoy taking classes over the web. Living in a rural area, I appreciate
being able to learn in a non-traditional way. I think that there should be
more
courses offered over the web. The college could monitor student who really
need to access classes over the web vs. students on campus (who traditionally
should show up for class).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel Chuck is a great teacher who cares plenty for the eduaction and well
being of his students
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be nice if the assignments were a little easier to understand I had a
problem doing some of them.
