heis a great teacher with a real passion for the class
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i loved the class and had a really great time actually going to the class.
it was easy to tell that chuck was passionate about the class. thanks chuck.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not majoring in this field, but i have a great love for it and I really
enjoyed this class.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought it was nice that he gave us a choice to go to class or just to do
everything online. I loved the stories in class because it made the class go
faster and more interesting.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HE IS VERY HELPFUL AND HE IS A GOOD LISTENER WHEN YOU HAVE AN ISSUE I WILL
GIVE THE CLASS AN A
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I like that ounce your done with the material the class is over. I also
think it is good to cancel friday classes because of all of the extra hours
put in out of class.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Professor Hammersly is a very good teacher. I wish every teacher would be as
interesting as he is.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great course, with lots of useful info that I can take to my next job :o)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The class was great and i enjoyed the freedom of doing everything on-line.
But i would not say at the beginning of the class that participation and
attendence don't count for anything because then no one comes. I learn a lot
from lectures and i hope that these notes can further help others to attend
and learn directly from the professor other than just doing the work to get
it done.
actually learn from it!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
chuck is a great teacher and I hope that i have him for other courses.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck is a great teacher. I have learned so much from his class, by the way
he teaches.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This class was very fun and enlightening. Prof. Hammersley was very
enthusiastic, interactive and understanding. I learned a lot and most of all
I learned that PRM is not the major for me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck is an excellent instructor. His passion for recreation really shines
through during his lectures. At the begining of this semester I was
apprehensive about getting a degree in Parks and Rec, but know I look
forward to graduating and proudly persuing a career in PRM!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
he was very bad at getting back to me about a few issues when i was sick
with mono
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
over the class went okay
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck was awesome. He had enthusiasm about his job, the material we were
learning, and about expanding our parks and rec. experiences. I learned
about society, and how important rec is to our lives. I am ready to go out
into the world and try to help people see how important rec. is as a
priority.

I loved this class! The instructor was very helpful and knowledgeable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was the first web-based class I have taken. As an older student that had
previously taken only traditional classroom setting courses I was a little
aprehensive. This was a very good experience that greatly exceeded all of my
expectations. I would (and have) recommend this type of class whole-heartedly.
Also, the instructor put together a well thought out package for this course.
I
am looking forward to continuing my studies in this venue and in this program!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This course has been an outstanding introduction for me to the PRM profession.
I did not have to relocate from Dallas Texas to take the course. The
University home site with the Web Cam is great !! Having Email to communicate
with the instructer and the university has kept me connected, as well as Dr.
Hammersley was always available by phone and would return my calls. Also
initially when I was familiarizing myself with navigating how to take a web
class the university help desk was always friendly. As was my advisor Corey
Hartman who has spent a great deal of time with me on the phone and was very
helpful in getting me started. Getting a few personal emails from the
instructor was great as well as the weekly emails we got from him. I am
grateful the program is available.

I would learn much more and have less difficulties if we had a quiz for each
chapter instead of a test for every few chapters.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great class. Look foward to the next one
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that the class went well but i had major problems with the computer
registration project
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck is a great teacher and I learned so much from him and can't wait to
have him again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The only thing that I had a hard time with was the computer project. I did
it several times trying to get rid of errors and ended up finding out the
day of that there was problems with the software. It was frustrating to
spend all that extra time in the lab when I am busy in other classes. Just
seemed to be a communication break down.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck is a wonderful teacher, he knows how to get the students involved.
Chuck's assignments for this course are wonderful, it is a lot of hands on
experiences, which is what Parks and Rec is about.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I loved the hands on experience in this class. However, I think that the
computer assignment needs to be explained in more detail with more hands on
help. I felt kind of lost when I was doing it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The text book was difficult to read and understand. It incoperated many
different authors, and most of the time seemed very contradictory.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He really went out of his way to try to help me with projects and due dates.
I enjoy his classes and look forward to the upcoming classes I will have
with him.

Awesome Class! Very Good instructor!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The computer programming project was extremely time consuming - over 40 hours
- the alloted time per the instructor was 10 hours for the lesson and 3 hours
for the assignment. As you can surmise the time frame was way off. I would
suggest
changing the time allotment for the students benefit especially since the end
of the semester is already time restrained as it is. Other than the
programming project the rest of the class was informative and interesting.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chuck was quick to respond and assist given the time difference for me in
Boston. The computer section was a hurdle that with his help I came in with a
solid 97. I consider myself fairly savy after taking the class. In addition
the tie ins with text book and term projects really brought light to it's
reality. This puts another tool in my tool box for a future in Recreation
Management.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Hammersley is a very understanding individual which, I think, is a very
important characteristic to have when dealing with one's students. His
compassion and willingness to help me during the duration of this coarse is
unequaled by any other instructor I have ever had in my academic career.

I enjoyed this class and feel it well be extremly helpful later in my
career. The Business Plan was a good way to tie everything together. My
only complaint was Chuck was at a Proffesional Conference the week before
the due date of the Business Plan, and was unable to answere last minute
questions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
chuck is a great prof.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Business Plan was kind of hard to me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
slow down, the class doesn't have to be over by mide november. The class
just felt rushed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep up the the good work!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i enjoyed the class! thank you chuck!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought that the textbook was not good.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Charles Hammersley is very commited to his students and it is clear that
he values what they learn while reciving their educations. Although his
courses have the potential to be difficult his teaching style clears up
any problems that students run into throughout the semester.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
is this confidential???
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was a great class. I think that more class time could be spent on the
budget and how to come up with one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
we always seem to skip fridays. and i am not complainig about that, but
maybe consider reserving somwe of those no-classes for scheduled workshops
where students can get together to tackle the work. or maybe reserve every
fir as workshop/lab day where the students can find their teams and work
together on projects.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was a hard class because of the terminoligy. I loved the book and after
you got the terminoligy down it was easy to understand. I even plan on
saving the book for future use in my career. The business plan was
difficult, but a very good sense of hands-on real-life application. I have a
feeling out of alll of my PRM classes in community and commercial recreation
emphasis that this will be the one I learned the most in. One again you have
outdone yourself Chuck! Thanks for making the material down to earth and
more real. Kristine L. Mitchell

Thanks, Chuck.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great Class! The instructor was very helpfull and knowledgeable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was sometimes hard to find the answers in the book because of the small
print used in the tables. The book also falls apart at the seems.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great experience, glad I chose this career. Pleasure to learn from.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The textbook was right in line with the intentions of the course. What made
the coarse so great was the availability of the instructor and his
willingness to help.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I found that Dr. Hammersley was very knowledgeable and very willing to help
assist me in any way that he could. It's just hard to tell what the
expectations of a class are when you are a distant learner and have to rely
on emails, to have questions answered sometimes.

As a web class there is always a link that is going to be missing between
the student and the professor. Because it is my first web class, and I'm
not used to this kind of communication I didn't enjoy it 100%. It seems to
be to impersonal to me. There is not way to know the level of commintment
of the two parties(student/instructor) to the class.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of great information. It opened my eyes to a lot of issues from
around the world.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The book is alittle hard to read as a text book. I have really enjoyed
this class and learned alot.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I felt the book read like a medical journal. The book seemed to be written
for seasoned ecotourists with knowledge of terminology in that field. I
did feel like I learned alot about this subject and now have a good
understanding of the issues related to it. i learned a lot from this class
(prm.300). i think the instructure thought this course very well and that
i recommend other students that are interisted in taking a ecotourism
class to take this one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was an alright class
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Hammersley has an excellent response time. I love his teaching style
and the fact that he is obviously passionate about recreation. Lisa Hicks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I enjoyed and learned a great deal about something I had little knowledge
or understanding of. I didn't enjoy the textbook and found it to be quite
confusing in structure
