Description
-
On May 4, 1970, Kent State University in Ohio was experiencing a large student protest on campus. Later known as the Kent State Shooting, ROTC members of the school were called to break up the large crowd that had grown. This was done through intimidation, the throwing of gas canisters thrown into the crowd, and eventually, shots fired. This photograph depicts part of the crowd and the students throwing a teargas canister back at the ROTC members
