Description
-
Kent State University in Ohio experienced a number of student protests during the antiwar movement of the 1960s and 1970s. The protest depicted in this photo is against the construction of a new gym facility. This is because part of the building was to be built on the site of the Kent State shooting that occurred seven years prior. At the Kent State shooting, four people were killed and the students believed that the new gym facility should not be built on this site
