- Department of Defense Secretary Aspin briefs reporters in the Pentagon on new policy that will allow women positions on combat aircraft and Navy ships. Secretary Aspin also shares that he will send legislation to Congress that would allow women on combat vessels and open positions in the Marines that would allow women in field artillery positions. Following Secretary Aspin's remarks and departure, General McPeak introduces three female combat pilots in training who answer questions from reporters on their new positions.
