These folowing dates are tentative. The actual date of each midterm exam will be announced at least 1 week in advance.
Groundrules: No calculators, no notes, no phones on your person, no watches (smart or otherwise), no earbuds. “No nothing.”
Exam 1, on WeBWorK sets 1-7, was on Tuesday, February 18 (Week 6).
A sample exam will be posted to Canvas. Studying the sample exam and the daily worksheets is a good way to study for the exam. Also, you should know how to do all the webwork problems. You probably don't have time to redo them all, but you should know the procedure for solving them.
Exam 2, on WeBWorK sets 9-13, was on Tuesday, April 1 (Week 11).
The topic is Linear ODEs of order 2 or greater.
The emphasis is on Linear Homogeneous ODEs with Constant Coefficients (LHODECCs) and Linear Nonhomogeneous ODEs with Constant Coefficients with Constant Coefficients (LNODECCs).
The scaling is that n/42 raw score get 1.5 n + 37 = 100 + 1.5(n-42) class points, out of 100.
The median score is 76% and the average score is 74%.

Exam 3, on WeBWorK sets 14-17, was on Thursday, April 24 (Week 14)
The topics are series solutions and systems of 1st order ODEs.
The scaling is
MT3 raw (out of 36 possible) gets scaled to MT3 scaled = 1.8*(MT3 raw -36) = 1.8*MT3 raw + 35.2.
The median score is 76.6% and the average score is 74.5%.

A note about the histogram. One bin says (89.9, 94.9], which means
89.9 < score <= 94.9. But since all scores are multible of 0.2 this is
the same as 90 <= score < 95. The top two bars are A's, the next 2 bars are B's, etc.
The Final Exam is scheduled for
Tuesday, May 6, 12:30-2:30, in our usual classroom.
