NAU Logo

Northern Arizona University's First Logo

Northern Arizona University football started in 1915. The lumberjacks are in the NCAA Division 1 Football Championship Division (FCS) and are in the Big Sky Conference. Since the beginning, the lumberjacks have a record of 448-444-25 and they have two conference titles (1978, 2003). The team or school colors for NAU have always been blue and gold and have always been represented by a lumberjack. The NAU logo on this page is actually the original NAU logo when it was a teacher's college.

Curitorial Statement:

From being an athlete all my life, most of my passions and things I enjoy, stem from sports. With that, Iam a huge fan of football and want a career in analyzing sports working for a media outlet. I am currently working for NAU-Tv and have some on-air presence working for NAZ-Today. With there not being an emphasis in sports at NAU, I do the best I can to learn and expand my knowledge of sports. I have been working and following the NAU football team since my freshman year of college and have learned a lot about the team and their history. I really wanted to make an exhibit highlighting their history and how sports really are more than just sports. Sports can bring people from all different demographics, cultures, races, etc., together which I think is so special and correlates to a lot of the topics we covered in class. Hope you want to explore and learn  about some "Lumberjack" football. Enjoy!
