Pair of women’s tie on pockets with a simple embroidered design. Pockets were tied around the waist under the skirt or dress and accessed through an opening in the outer skirt. Tie on pockets were across all classes of society and were often large and spacious to maximize capacity and function for keeping useful, valuable, and private possessions and objects close to the person.
